Module Description

This module aims to help students taking control of their daily money issues under various real-life financial situations. Students are expected to know the history, development and importance of money and its related technology in human civilization, investigate the social implication of the connections between money-related technology and money, acquire knowledge of basic financial concept, like Time Value of Money and forecasting, and develop a scientific methodology for analyzing financial products and solving monetary problems with the help of technology. Future development of technology and its impact on money will also be discussed.

Upon completion of this module, students should be able to: 
a. Describe the history, development and importance of money and its related technology in human civilization
b. Evaluate and solve financial challenges faced in daily life with scientific methodologies
c. Apply money-related technology to solve financial and social problems

1.3 Social implication of the connections between money-related technology and money
1.4 Interest and basic financial terminologies

2. Analysis of financial products in the modern world with the help of technology

2.1 How technology improves decision making in lending, borrowing and savings (e.g. Personal loan, student loan, car loan, mortgage and credit card, savings plan and insurance)
2.2 Forecasting the future of the financial market
2.3 Future development of technology and its impact on money management
