This module aims to develop students’ understanding of how international business organizations respond to the increasingly globalized competitive environment while ensuring sustainable and responsible business practices at the same time. The module explores the contextual influences and organizational factors which shape international business organizations, provide students with knowledge of business and managerial practices within cultural settings, and develop students’ practical skills to work and navigate in international business organizations. Through studying this module, students learn to critically analyze international business organizational issues from the lens of a globally responsible citizen and help address these issues to achieve United Nations’ sustainable development goals of decent work and economic growth, peaceful and strong institutions, and vitalized global partnership.
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:
a. Discuss the role of environment and culture in global business settings
b. Analyze ethics, social responsibility and sustainability of international business organizations
c. Identify the strategic, structural, organizational and human resources dimensions of international business organizations
d. Analyze the relationship between cultural, strategic and managerial aspects of international business organizations
e. Cultivate effective international management skills to work as a team and organizational member in a global business environment
