本課程讓學生認識及了解資料庫的原理及運作，從而讓學生明白如何作資料整理，以及設計、建立和維護資料庫，並建立專業的報表和報告。
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:
a. 了解數據及資料庫的概念及原理。
b. 設計及應用資料庫，用以處理數據。
c. 於日常生活及工作應用資料庫，例如建立個人資料庫或應用文獻資料庫，以及建立專業的報告及報表。
d. 認識如何保障資料的私隱及安全。
