Module Description

This module explores the dynamic relationship between the individual and society from the perspective of sociology. The focus is on how people experience life as individuals and as members of the social realm. The module also explores how individuals participate in society and examines the processes and possibilities of social change.

Module Intended Learning Outcomes (MILO)

Upon completion of this module, students should be able to: 
a. explain the complexities of social structure; 
b. evaluate the ways in which our lived experiences and social institutions are structured through the dynamics of cultures and social structures; and
c. apply sociological knowledge and skills to analyse everyday life situations.
