Module Description

This module examines the significance of science and technology in sports and physical activities. It first introduces the historical evolution of sports science and technology and analyzes how technological advancement affects the delivery of sports events, the participation of sports and physical activities, and sports performance. The issues and controversies of technology in sports science are also explored. By the end of the module, students are expected to propose a strategy to improve the performance or participation in a selected sport and physical activity.

Upon completion of this module, students should be able to: 
a. examine the historical evolution of sports science and technology;  
b. analyze the achievements of contemporary science and technology in sports and physical activities;
c. evaluate the impacts and controversial issues of sports science and technology;
d. develop a plan to improve the performance or participation in sports and physical activities.
