The course is proposed to help develop responsible business graduates who can decipher the importance of sustainability practice and the necessary leadership decision-making and behavioral processes to accomplish that. The aspects of good practice include environmental protection, good governance, quality and safe product and service offerings, motivational human resources management and proactive stakeholder engagement. This new general education course extends beyond traditional learning pedagogy. It includes student-centered action learning methods including case studies, field studies, innovative problem-solving competitions and using evidence-based research methods to critique sustainability practices. The objective is to maximise students’ exposure to real leadership cases in driving sustainability. In the process, students will generate intrinsic motivation to (i) analyse related issues through the social, political, economic and cultural lenses, (ii) develop the right values for ethical and responsible management and (iii) cultivate relevant skills to become future change agents in tackling social and environmental issues.
